The lecturers were:

  • The local people are well oriented in the field of the ecotourism;
  • There is a need of more profound and widespread promotion of Measure 1.3 to prevent the situation in Slovakia;
  • There is a need of using other methods to reach the farmers than workshops and seminars only.

Environmental Education Programme about the Water in our River Basin
Within the activity 2.5 (Environmental education activities for school children), Daphne has prepared an educational programme Water in our River Basin. This programme is divided into two parts:

Part I consists mainly of theory presented to the students in a classroom setting. Emphasis is put on the use of visual, interactive and creative tools in educational practices. One of these tools is a Water Cycle Model that was created in order to illustrate ideas presented by theory.

Part II of the programme consists of outdoor activities during which the students will carry out scientific research, in the form of a survey, using Merck company equipment for testing water quality.

Starting at the beginning of April, Daphne will be carrying out this educational programme in 12 schools located in the municipalities of the Lower Morava Region.

The Educational Programme will also be transferred to both partner organisations; CEIE and PEC, as an inspiration and a model for the preparation of their own educational programmes. CEIE will hold the educational programme in 5 - 10 schools located in the Montana and Berkovitsa municipalities, while PEC plans to conduct only the outdoor field trip component for 8 Eco Schools.
